News from Emmanuel, June 13, 2008
Dear Friends, This is our joy to let you know that, this Sunday we had a naming ceremony. According to Rwandan culture a baby is given a name after eight days. We have not followed that our son got a name after a month. There is no boundaries in Christ you can name the child anytime today but it is good to experience the beauty of the culture sometimes. Formerly it was the children who were supposed to name the new baby. The children of the same village could share a meal on a tradition tray while sited on a mat and one by one could speak out his chosen name. It was the duty of the Father to get a good one or to give the right one if he wanted his choice. This time we did it differently all the people did give the names and we would like to thank all of you who have suggested a name by witting or by speaking. Emily and I have tried to copy and paste the letters you gave and we got the name we wanted. The name of our baby boy is IMPANO DAVIS KIM,just to say Impano is for gift Davis for David beloved and Kim for precious one. Thanks for all your prayers Love and prayer Rev. Emmanuel!!!
